Amarnath and Brittany met at the California College of Ayurveda in 2010. They were brought together for their yearning and love of the Vedic Sciences, yoga, music, dance, adventure and travel! Hand in hand they plan to heal the world, one Spirit at a time.
Brittany was born and raised in the rolling mountains of Virginia. She grew up in a life of unawareness of healthy alternatives and in the typical “ignorance is bliss” bubble. At the age of 18, her father introduced her to her first yoga DVD. Since then, she has been hooked on the tranquility that yoga offers her. After graduating from Radford University in Media Studies, her wanderlust heart fled to South Korea to teach English. From there, she traveled extensively throughout Southeast Asia and ended her trip in India to become a yoga instructor. Before leaving the ashram, her soul had already decided that it was going to pursue Ayurveda. Upon returning to the States, she discovered The California College of Ayurveda (CCA) and began school in 2010.
During her studies at CCA, she fell in love and followed her heartfelt instincts to be with Amarnath on his Ayurvedic mission in Thailand. Brittany spent time implementing Ayurveda into her daily routine while managing a clothing boutique and designing jewelry. In her free time, Brittany enjoys dyeing fabrics in Ayurvedic medicinal herbs to help heal the skin. She also creates customized jewelry using Jyotish (astrological) gemstones and has started a company, Sarvani Designs. In May 2012, she returned once again to South Korea where she taught English, yoga and began her own Ayurvedic practice, SeoulShine Ayurveda.
Brittany is a certified Ayurvedic Health Practitioner, Ayurvedic Health Educator and Ayurvedic Body Therapist from CCA. She is also a certified Thai Massage Therapist from Shivagakomarpaj (Chiang Mai) and certified YYT-200 from Yoga Vidya Gurukul (India) and a professional member of the National Ayurvedic Medicial Association.
Amarnath is also a graduate of the California College of Ayurveda (CCA), the nation’s leader in Ayurvedic education, with certifications as a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist and Pancha Karma Specialist.
Amarnath has a deep commitment to his Ayurvedic and Jyotish education. Shortly after beginning his studies at the CCA in 2004, he began studying pulse with Dr. Mary Jo Cravatta, where he developed a special talent for Pulse Diagnosis. After graduation from CCA, Amarnath traveled to India and spent six months exploring its culture and deepening his studies surrounding Pancha Karma, Deenacharya (daily routine) and Sadhana (spiritual practices). Upon returning from India in 2007, Amarnath spent the first year of his Pancha Karma practice at the CCA working closely with Dr. Marc Halpern, the founder of the College. Amarnath spent fours years as the Director of Pancha Karma at the California College of Ayurveda.
He began his studies of Jyotish upon beginning his Ayurvedic education only studying books and attending occasional workshops. It was not until he met his current Jyotish Teacher, Freedom Tobias Cole, that he began putting all of the knowledge into practice. In 2010, he formally started giving Vedic Astrolgy readings at the encouragement of his teacher and has continued to do so in correlation with his Ayurvedic consultations providing a step up in care for his patients.
Prior to his training as an Ayurvedic healer, Amarnath received certification as a Massage Therapist, after completing 650 hours of massage training, and also received level one Rei Ki attunement. He has also been a Hatha Yoga teacher in the Iyengar tradition, which compliments his work in Ayurveda as Yoga and Ayurveda are rooted in the same tradition. In fact, his studies of Massage, Rei Ki and Hatha Yoga have given him a deeper perspective on how to effectively care for his patients–both physically and energetically–and ultimately led him to study the science of Ayurveda.
Knowing there will never be an end to his studies of these Vedic Sciences, he currently travels around the world to learn and grow more in his field and providing his services wherever he can. He is always happy to offer himself humbly.
